Living in Harmony workshops
provide an opportunity for the students to explore their reactions, feelings and thoughts towards the exhibition, and their experience with a Holocaust survivor.
The workshops are conducted by facilitators who have been carefully selected and fully trained in the skills of facilitation .

Participation
Entry to the exhibition and associated workshops is free of charge . To encourage attendance by as many students as possible, Courage to Care covers the transport costs for public and Catholic High Schools to visit the exhibition.

Outline – Exhibition Viewing
On arrival, you will be greeted by a staff member who will organise your students and prepare them for participation in the education program.

  • View the video: "An Introduction to Judaism and Jewish life in Australia", duration 12 minutes
  • Students will be divided into groups of 20
  • View the exhibition in the company of a trained guide. Guides are selected for their support of the exhibition's philosophy, their enthusiasm, and their ability to relate to students
  • Engage with a Holocaust survivor who will share personal stories of discrimination and survival, and respond to questions and issues of interest to students
  • Participate in an interactive Living in Harmony Workshop to relate the themes of the exhibition to everyday life and relationships. The workshop gives students the opportunity to respond to the exhibition and their dialogue with a survivor, and how these are relevant to their lives

Conference in Yad Vashem, Jerusalem
Courage to Care was invited to deliver an educational workshop at the Third International Conference titled "The Legacy of Holocaust Survivors: The Moral and Ethical Implications for Humanity".

 Joint Project with NSW Department of Education and Training
Courage to Care is in partnership with the Department of Education and Training has produced and is part of an anti-prejudice classroom package for students in Years K-3.

Stand Up! Speak Out! Anti-racism education conference, Sydney
An invitation to participate in a conference jointly sponsored by the NSW Department of Education and Training, and the NSW Teachers’ Federation ,aimed at examining how racism manifests itself within education and training contexts.
